When to use what
Use Gemini Flash Lite or Haiku when you are making small changes:
- Changing a color or font size
- Updating text content
- Hiding or showing an element
- Quick layout adjustments
Use Sonnet for most real work:
- Building a new section from scratch
- Editing multiple files at once
- Adding interactive features (tabs, accordions, sliders)
- Fixing bugs that span multiple sections
Use Opus when you need the best output:
- Building an entire page layout from a description
- Complex multi-section designs with specific interactions
- Debugging tricky issues that Sonnet could not solve
Plan availability
The free Hobby plan only includes Gemini Flash Lite. Haiku, Sonnet, and Opus require a Starter plan or above. Opus requires Growth or above.
Tip: Start with Sonnet for most tasks. Switch to Haiku for small follow-ups. Only use Opus when Sonnet is not cutting it.
