How to upload your theme in Shopify

Download your theme from Clyro and install it on your Shopify store.

Once your theme is ready in Clyro, here is how to get it onto your Shopify store.

Step 1: Export from Clyro

  1. Click the Export button in the top right of the editor
  2. Optionally rename the file
  3. Accept the Terms of Service checkbox
  4. Click Export to get the .zip file

Clyro validates your theme before packaging. If there are issues, it sends them to the chat so the AI can fix them automatically. You will not get a broken zip.

Step 2: Upload to Shopify

  1. Go to your Shopify admin
  2. Navigate to Online Store > Themes
  3. Click Add theme in the top right
  4. Select Upload zip file
  5. Choose the .zip you just downloaded from Clyro
  6. Wait for Shopify to process it (usually 10-30 seconds)

Step 3: Preview and publish

Your theme appears in the "Theme library" section. Before going live:

  • Click Preview to check it looks right on your real store data
  • Test on mobile (Shopify preview has a device toggle)
  • Check product pages, collection pages, and the cart

When everything looks good, click Publish to make it your live theme.

Tip: Your old theme is never deleted. Shopify keeps it in the theme library so you can always switch back.
